Henrico conceal and carry

I'm starting to get rather antsy I filed and paid for my CHP 32 days ago in Henrico county. and every day I run to the mail box everyday looking for that self addressed envelope. after watching a few videos of what gun owners in LA deal with (500 CWP in the entire county of LA CA) I get concerned. I just purchased My last handgun about 30 days ago so I am legal. I have a misdemeanor from a prank I pulled 38 yrs ago and charges were dismissed. and I* have never been in any other trouble other than 2 traffic tickets. Are they allowed to deny my CHP just because they feel like it? or are they just gonna make me wait as close to 45 days as Possible? Has anyone who read this ever been denied a CHP even if they met all the requirements?

Thanks for you input : )

Have patience grasshopper, I see a shiny new VA CHP in your immediate future, probably any day now.

You're not in Cali any more  We are a proud Shall Issue state.

I have to go recharge my crystal ball now

With regard to your background, if you were able to buy a handgun from a retail store, unless you screwed up paperwork, I can't see you being denied.

I'm in Prince William County. Though they didn't go the whole 45 days... I seem to remember it being very close.

If you do not receive it in or a letter stating denied in 45 days you can carry using you application receipt as your permit. But it will show.

Recived it 10-17 it was issued 9-26 (10 days after I submitted the application, ok let me put my tin foil hat on for the next statement) makes me wonder if there isn't a anti-gun advocate slowing up the process. but I GOT IT!!! I was over joyed, excited . but thru these warm fuzzy feelings I realized Im so excited about carrying something I pray I never have to use in defensive of my family or anyone else and now I understand its not about having it, it's knowing that if I ever do need it , it's there. and it's my right.
God Bless America and the 2nd amendment :iwojima: .

Roger that brother... and congrats.

As far as the tin foil hat... that date is when the judge adjudicates. It takes the paperwork a little bit of time to process and can vary depending on how busy the courts and the clerk are. That said... anti's are everywhere. Don't forget... about 50% of the people in this country are willing to sacrifice their freedom because they believe in fascism, Socialism, Communism, Totalitarianism, etc. if they are willing to sacrifice their own freedoms, they sure don't care about sacrificing your freedoms.

In this case, it's not tin hat thinking at all. When the CCW laws were changed in 1995, anti-gun counties tried various ways to make things more difficult. I don't live in Henrico County, but I believe it is anti-gun, so they will do whatever they can to deny your rights. One by one, these shenanigans have been closed down for the most part. I don't live in Henrico County, but I believe it is anti-gun, so they will do whatever they can to deny or delay your rights.

At any rate - congrats!

My renewal this year took longer than usual so I would get too worried.
