Hello to everyone! I just moved to the Falls Church area last month from Canada. Working in DC for the Canadian Government as a driver. Just checking in to say hi and see what's what around here. I have my Canadian Restricted Possession Acquisition License, but I highly doubt that is any sort of valid down here. Anyways I would like to get some information on how to proceed with getting a license here, if it's even possible for a non resident.

Google Atf 4473 as a start. Call local gun shop and ask to speak to a senior member of the staff. You can't be the first person to ask them this. Try Loudoun Guns maybe.

Oh and Virginia doesn't require a license to own or at least a US citizen doesn't need one. Most firearm laws are specific and written by individual states but your instance will have Federal aspects. Call a gun shop and find a knowledgeable employee.
