They can't call it "war" because they'd be forced to go through Congress. And after all the fuss and blather (finger-pointing) about Bush and his war, to go to war without congressional approval would doom the democrat party for two or three election cycles.

The least they can do is get their stories straight. Obama never said we're going to war against ISIS/ISIL, then Lurch put the final stamp on it. But then, Obama's 15 minute diatribe sure sounded like a war speech. How can these people think we're not at war? They say ISIS/ISIL isn't a state and we can't be at war if the opponent isn't a state. The only thing ISIS/ISIL lacks are borders, for now. Drugs aren't a state, and neither is poverty. But we've dumped more money in those "wars" than we'll ever dump in this one. Lurch was right in one respect - words do mean things (he took a cue from Limbaugh). Boehner is correct as well when he says, "An F-15 is not a strategy. Someones boots are going to have to be on the ground." He ain't talkin' about Iraq, he's talkin' about Syria.

We're in deep Kimchi because of the dithering on the part of this administration while these wackjobs gained steam. Now we're faced with some very distasteful choices. Assad has warned us against bombing targets in Syria, and Obama wants to make sure our pilots will be successful. How in the name of all that is holy does he expect to do that? Obama is screwed, and so are we.

Russia and China are separate discussions, as are the cuts in defense and moth-balling of the Warthog.

I saw somewhere a great summary of the speech:

We'll be bombing a sovereign nation (Syria).
We'll be arming terrorist groups while fighting them.
The US Economy is Great.

As for Russia and China, remember what stopped obomber to bomb Syria last year. Russia and China. Bombing Syria is a direct provocation to Putin, and it will not go without response.

Our president is either a Muslim co-conspirator or the biggest idiot ever elected.

The "moderates" are just the public face for the normal Islamists in the area. If it prays towards Mecca 5x a day I would not give it a slingshot. Sorry after looking around the world that is just how I see things now.

Leave Syria to Assad. It is his nation anyway. If we stop being a thorn in his side I am betting he would have the situation under control in a hurry.

Eradicate ISIS in Iraq use boots on the ground (our soldiers) if needed......arm the Kurds, the Christians, and the Yzadis. Tell Iraq to get their house in order.

But if course this would require clear thinking and actually having guts.

Our "President" just wants to see the United State destroyed. That is his plan.

I suspect that he'd be inclined to surrender to whoever attacks us first, be it Russia, China, some Islamic group, or North Korea. Doesn't rightly matter, I would imagine, as long as US fails.

I can't fathom that Emperor Soetoro is as stupid as he has made himself appear. I've been acquainted with many stupid people over the years. Stupid folks will, occasionally, get something right. Not our Emperor, though. He's got quite a long series of screw ups, errors, and general denseness. It's got to be a statistical improbability.

No. His actions are intentional. He has a specific purpose. He wants to destroy the nation. That's the only conclusion that makes any sense at all.
