I picked up a Springfield M1 Garand for my Sons Birthday.

It's a March 1945. Springfield, Mostly Correct..
I am excited about the Original WWII Barrel and Lockbars..

Bolt - 8528287-SA Z-1 (1950's Bolt)
Trigger housing - D28280-16-SA [1945 Correct]
Trigger Guard - Stamped, milled hook. No markings. [1945 Correct]
Hammer - C46008-8 SA [1945 Correct]
Safety- SA-11 [1945 Correct]
WWII Lockbar Rear Sights [1945 Correct]
Stock - "SA/SHM Col. Steven H. MacGregor" USGI [Correct ?? ]
Gas Cylinder - .575-.580 inch front sight base, flat top on rear ring, unmarked. [1945 Correct]
Gas Cylinder Lock Screw - Return poppet valve, cross shaped slot. "P", large hexagon [1945 Correct]

That's a clean rifle! He's a lucky guy. I hope he takes care of it.

He will, He loves the Garand and the history behind it. it was the first rifle he shot many years ago and has always
wanted one.
