What do you think about organizing a website, and pro-gun groups to get reciprocity from SOUTHERN states alone?

From the top of VA, down to the Keys, from the east coast out to Texas...

I think it would be an interesting task to try, but I know from my past week in Georgia, they would be rather OPEN to such a thing!

As it is, we are only missing Georgia and Alabama. That shouldn't be too hard to make happen. Just need someone with the right motivation and deep enough pockets or influences.

They're just not satisfied with Virginia's requirements for a resident CHP.

About five years ago I checked into why GA and at the time AL did not have reciprocity with VA. AL has since changed their state law to where they honor a permit from any other state. So, GA remains the only southern state not covered by a VA resident permit.

What most folks don't know is why. VA has a law that requires another state to be able to verity the validity of a permit holder 7/24. According to the VA State Police, GA does not have this capability and therefore VA has no reciprocity with GA.

Here is the law: ยง 18.2-308.014. Reciprocity

Well, while we're at it, who's going to sue states for not recognizing CCW permits from other states? If they can stretch the ICC as far as they have when it comes to drug-free kill zones... er, I mean, school zones... surely they can do so for CCW permits.

How authoritative/reliable is this website? I have a VA Resident CHP and I am traveling to Kentucky. I want to make sure I am within the law. It looks like I am good, but I want to be sure.
"But officer, I read it on the internet..."

From the Kentucky gov web site:

Effective, July 15, 1998, Kentucky recognizes valid carry concealed weapons licenses issued by other states and, subject to the provisions of Kentucky law, a person holding a valid license from another state may carry a concealed deadly weapon in Kentucky.
