The wife and I have been wanting to have a meet & greet all summer , but with her being so busy with work and it being so hot we just said Sept. 6 would be a great day. All VGOF members and family are welcome ! Sun up to whenever. We plan on having "Burgers and Dogs" on the grill mid afternoon. If anyone wants to bring anything else to cook...deer , chicken , or whatever please feel free to do so.
We are also asking everyone to bring whatever they would like to drink...Beer , soft drinks , water , ice ! Maybe we can work up a list so everybody doesn't bring the same thing.
This will be at our Property in Dinwiddie County 20781 Reese Rd.Stony Creek, VA 23882...30 minutes south of Colonial Heights. I will post directions later. Our range is open so bring your Guns !!! We have a 15 yd. Pistol / Air Gun Range and a 100 yd. Rifle Range. We also have several miles of Trails and lots of Wild Life .
We hope as many as possible can come and spend a "Day in the Woods" .

That's right cool of you. I may be able to swing by, if I am home that weekend.

If I can't make it, thank you for the generous invite, anyway.

Wow - what a great offer! Mind if I add it to the VGOF calendar and make it official? Thanks for doing this!

Thank you for the great offer Snakester! I'm in Loudoun. Anyone want to plan a carpool? I have a 7 seater Pathfinder so I can take a few plus gear/food.

It sounds like a great way to meet some great people. I live in Williamsburg so it should be an easy drive.

Muzzel loaders are always welcome....As long as they DO NOT have "WHEELS " ! I've been shooting my .50 cal. Hawken quite a bit lately !!!

Yeap I built my .50 cal Hawkins two years ago and it is the only one I use in BP season. it put a nice doe in the freezer last year and a Buck and a doe the year before.
You got to keep the powder dry though on those rainy mornings cause I missed a big 8 when only the snap went off. dang thing turned its head and trotted off as I digging out another cap and it just went snap as well. Swab your barrel with a dry cloth and keep your hat over the opening when you put the powder in. Looking back at it now I Should have loaded it in the barn instead of out by the truck.
Dang fine bead on it and it has a gentle kick as well. One thing I did learn though is to take your gloves off before you shot if the set trigger is on because dang that trigger is set on a hair.

Man, this just happens to be race weekend. My company parks cars on their lot(everything around RIR becomes a chargeable parking spot lol) and I typically work that weekend parking cars for a little extra cash I've already committed to be there. So I'll have to miss this one but next time I'll be there because its only about an hour from me.
