firefox has not aged well, the current releases are way way to slow.

i still personally perfer and use IE, sometimes i might use firefox, but thats just for the skins if IE is messing up.

Nope Google Chrome tops them all!

Browsers are like firearms, everyone has a favorite.

I hate FF on Windows, but like it on most Linux distros. FF has had some aging/bloating issues, but so have most of them except perhaps Opera. Looked at Chrome, but it just never really caught my fancy. Besides, I have enough Google stuff already. I hate iTunes/QT so much I refuse to use Apple's other S/W products out of spite. This includes Safari. Like FF for Linux, I think Safari sucks on anything besides Apple's OS and I can't get use to the simplified, Neanderthal mouse. I.e. the kind of input device you can actually still work properly with a club cause it only has one button.

Did I mention how much I hate trackpads? I still use an IBM x60s which has the "old," but greatest, mouse input device ever. In fact is it so great we named it a nipple. Unfortunately, nipples got a bad rap because low cost laptop manufacturers put junk in them. Alas, outside of the businessmen and geeks, the world will never know just how awesome it was to operate the cursor and type with barely any hand movement.

I just sent off about a dozen of those old ThinkPads to the recycler this week. They were excellent back in the day (My first T-Pad was a 360)

I never could get used to the "nipple" track device.

As for browsers - other than the bloat factor (hey just restart it every few days) I really like firefox. IE7 and 8 are the worst browsers I've ever seen. Especially IE8 - which breaks so many web standards, it's ridiculous. M$ off trying to do their own thing...they need to just get with the program and code their junk to standards instead of breaking everything in an effort to push the standards in their own direction.

That is because practically no one but IBM bothered to do them right. I hated my nipple on my last Dell laptop (nearly a decade ago). Until you tried the ThinkPads you just don't know what you're missing.

I've had good luck with nipples(on computer of courses). Trackpad on my Gateway I have has real problems. It stop moving the mouse and random times and you have to lick you finger to get it working again.

Thank goodness I have some backup on here. I was trying to think of a snide comment, but nothing that would fit within the constraints of decorum. Jay to the rescue!

This thread is further proof that the nominal nomenclature of using female pronouns (her, she, etc.) for machines is accurate.

Mine doesn't have any nipples, but she tends to get really hot when she sits on my lap.

You guys are bad. I've always thought those things looked more like pencil erasers than anything else, but most of the ones I've seen are green or blue...guess maybe I'm stupid...however I favor using them much more than the track pad...maybe something deep and dark inside...a green nipple...

ThinkPad nipples were usually a nice, bright red.
