The Roanoke Times did an article on this, my favorite line:
http://www.roanoke.com/news/local/prepp ... b2370.html
Then there was Stephen Fischer, a military surplus vendor from Eggleston, whose booth featured a field medic brain surgery kit for $100.
Asked who would be interested in buying such a thing, Fischer said, “Apparently nobody.”
Now, if he'd been selling a home brain surgery kit, sure.
But a field brain surgery kit? That's just overkill.

Dunno, the kit might be good if you're attacked by brain eating zombies instead of the far more frequent entitlement zombies.

No more MZB? Now there EZ? I think we should worry about BOTH! HA HA!
They gotta have a BRAIN, before a BRAIN MED KIT can do any good!

I would have loved to have gone, but 500 miles round trip is too far. I'm liking the pictures though. Looks like it was fun. Glad to see the families out there too.

Most distance traveled that we encountered was some guys out of Richmond. Like me, they are members of the Baofeng fan club.

Nice. Just looked them up. Pretty low price for 2m/70cm I never heard of them before. I might see how they do.
Do they have models that do cross-band repeat?

One of the newer models does. I'll get back with a feature chat later today.

I only got to stay about 15 minutes but was good to see good folks get out there and share with each other and meet others!

I dont know anything about the Boa rigs, but Ive got several Wouxun radios that I am more than satisfied with.
Daughter and I stayed a little over 45 min I guess, spent a few bux and looked around... talked to a few. I was just glad to see the event! I bet next year's will be bigger! The word will be out after this one...

$100 for a brain surgery kit? I'd buy that.
Not that I'd be attempting brain surgery; my hands aren't that steady. But, it's got to have useful stuff.
GF states that she'd be interested in a field amputation kit. She's into medical type stuff.

A basic field amputation kit is a tourniquet, a hatchet and a butane torch. The really good ones also have metal sheers and booze. LOL

Butane torch... I take it that that both sterilizes the hatchet and seals the wound?
