New to VA, PCS from WA

Hello everyone! I am so glad to become a part of the local gun community and be able to share thoughts and ideas with you all. In advance, I thank you for you sound advice and opinions in matters pertaining to guns and the like. I am brand new to Virginia and the East coast, so far I am absolutely loving it! I have been active duty Navy since I graduated high school in Montana ten years ago. I really enjoy guns and I like to focus mostly on the sports and training aspect.
I would like to compete in IDPA this year and after I retire from the Navy I would like to fulfill my passion with guns by working with them somehow.

When I was a kid (a long, long time ago), my dad (USN) was stationed at Whidbey Island. I remember that it was a great place to be a kid.
