Fishing Licenses

Remember (probably not as I've been away since November) that I am new to VA. I'm confused as to if I need a REsident State Freshwater fishing license and a County/City Resident fishing license. I know that Lake Orange and Bowler's Mill require licenses so I was thinking that the county/city would cover that. It seems weird to me since in GA, you only needed a single license and could fish everywhere except government property where you need a WMA license.

Thanks for readying!

As far as I know, there is only one resident fishing license which is valid anywhere a license is required.

You need the license and a permit for Bowler's Mill.

Thanks. I just wanted to make certain I didn't buy $43 worth of licenses/permits when $27 will do.

A basic/general fishing license will get you all the harassment and condemnation you need in most places from the State. A general hunting license carries the same weight.. The need to give the Governor additional monies for specific bodies of water areas does not guarantee you'll be provided with lube on whatever orifice the State deems sufficient. However, you can rest assured the relatives of the local authorities will be well kept with your additional monies..
