This weekend. Got the opportunity to shoot the 226 (9mm full size), and 227 (.45 high cap). WOW! Okay, I get it now. Holy Crap! Like driving a Ferrari. The gun is just MUCH better than I would have expected!

to the SIG addiction. I haven't had the pleasure to shoot the 227 yet but I've heard great things.

That's why I won't shoot a SIG until I have the money to buy one that day.

The 226 was one of the first center fire handguns I ever shot. It jammed on me at least twice in 50 round but it was a rental and very very dirty. That said I'll take a 1911 over a sig any day!

Jake, you can have your cake AND eat it too… how about a Sig 1911?

It had to be because the weapon was not taken care of. I have owned 4 Sigs in the past 2 years including two P226's. I have fired well over 10,000 rounds without a single failure.

Take car of them and they will take care of you.

I have a P229 that is shooting low. Any place in NOVA where it can be fixed?

Virginia Arms can set it up for you. Rob does great work as far as repairs goes. Setting up the sights should be a walk in the park.

Something a lot of people do is aim using "6 o'clock hold" when its setup for "point of aim / point of impact". Sig pistols are "point of aim / point of impact - 25 yard zero" out of the box.

"Point of aim / point of impact" is the one on the left (A) and "6 o'clock hold" on the right (B). If you a aiming using the method on the right, then you are aiming low, rather than the sights being off. If you are using method B and you are 7-10 yards, then you are aiming really low.



If you are using "6 o'clock hold" and prefer it, you can have the sights adjusted for that method.

Some Sig duty type handguns use what they call a "combat" style POA (point of aim). It's different from many other handguns - sight image 3 in pic below. The POI (point of impact) on the target will be where the CENTER of the dot/night sight is. It will not be at the TOP of the front sight.

Sig has rear sights of various heights to move the POI, so you can likely find a POI that suits you with their sights. Another option is third party sights.

I'm aware of the sights particularity, but it's still shooting low.

Good choice - that's where I would go. But, I would make sure to do my homework first and know exactly how much I wanted to change the point impact at a specific distance. And then do some simple math to know exactly how much higher a rear sight or lower a front sight I wanted.

I got my P250C in .40, shoots like a dream, but you have to like the DAO.

Ive done the Glock, XD & FNX scene, Ive never shot so well as I have with the P250! I think Im one of those odd operators that work a DAO better than SA or striker.

Just yesterday, my 9MM FS conversion kit came in, WOW! Honkin' beast, cant wait to shoot it this weekend, glad I got 500rns of ammo at the same time! ($269 at CTD, shipped fast). This also gave me my first weapon with night sights... Impressed!!

If the daughter likes it, I plan to get her one... we got rid of her Para 1911, what a headache... I should have headed the forums.

Anywho, Im also wanting to get the FS .45 xchange kit too.

Grip, sights and trigger on the 250 are all superior to anything else Ive run, that includes H&K.

Sounds like you've caught the "Sig-ness" Rev...there is no cure The more you shoot'em, the more you like'em...and the more you'll buy.

I've got a SigPro 2340, but love my G17 much better...I've shot my Glock a LOT more, which may be why I'm not as sharp with the Sig...I do like having the ability to throw in a 357 Sig barrel though without issue.
