Harrisonburg/August Demos?

Looking at a job offer in Harrisonburg city. Wikipedia says the demographics include an unusually concentration of Hispanic folks in the city. Is there a particular reason that explains this? Perhaps more important, does it lead to a problem with drugs and gangs in H'burg and August County?
Thanks.

Processing plants need workers but they aren't any worse crime wise than the blacks or whites around here as far as I've seen, lots of locals below the poverty line.

Of course I meant Rockingham County, not Augusta. Thanks for the replies so far. You can only learn a little from driving around and googling.

I live in the county. Crime is very low from what I've experienced/seen in town. I live out in the country so I see less of town than someone who lives there obviously. It's fairly cheap to live here, although if your job isn't long term (my job got cut in Aug and have been UE since then) there aren't a ton of jobs that even pay remotely decent, if any jobs at all.
