Iv'e been trying to work up a good load for my Savage .223. I think I found it today. 24 grains of IMR3031 behind a Sierra 55 grain hollowpoint boattail. I tried that load a couple of differnt over all lenghts and found that 2.255OAL was the ticket. Three shot group with all holes touching.

I didn't take any pics of the group but here's one I took of the rifle after I had the barrel chopped, recrowned and I camo'ed it.

What kind of muzzle blast do you get from that shooter?

I'm guessing there are many tan maple leaves in your neck of the woods.
She looks good.

I don't think the muzzle blast is bad but then again I'm about deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other.

The muzzle blast on my AR is way worse.

The muzzle blast ain't bad, but then again like Vahunter said he is deaf and so am I. I don't think that it is that bad when shooting from my bench.
