New in Manassas!

Hello all,
Prior USAF and new to the area as of about 8 months ago. I just found you guys.
Looking for nice shooting buddies and outdoor locations to shoot/compete.
In my past, I shot a lot of IDPA, but have since moved on to USPSA. I also do a fair bit of short range benchrest, clay shooting, long range, long range competition and ELR. I also handload everything I shoot (rifle, pistol and shotgun).
Unfortunately, it's been about 6 months since I've even pulled a trigger.

I hate the indoor places and I'm not finding many other options so I just haven't done anything.
My poor steel targets are sitting in the garage unused and collecting dust.
Anyway, I'm glad that I found you guys!
Ed

Welcome! Retired Army here, in Front Royal. I don't shoot competitively, having spent most of my career at the range, but like to keep current, and am at the stage of teaching my daughters how to shoot >.22 firearms.
Were you CC/PJ/TACP, or got into to shooting on the side?

Welcome!
Not too far east of you in Centreville. I'm trying to secure some open space to shoot… You're welcomed to bring your targets if I ever get space!

Intel by trade. Hung up the uniform and came out here in June of last year.
No combat experience. Just a huge gun nut.
I'm trying to find some space too. Too many dang trees.

Welcome to the Forum !

I too hate shooting indoors and going to Ranges in general. My wife and I bought 30 acres in Dinwiddie and are in the process of building us a Private Pistol & Rifle Range. I know it's hard to find places to shoot unless it is a Club . We shot with a Club for several years and enjoyed it a lot. Then we stopped because there we many kids that were not being controlled and mostly unsupervised . We witnessed many very scary and dangerous situations . Hope you can find some places to shoot .

Just west of you in Bristow, and retired Air Force...
Outdoor ranges in NOVA are as rare as an honest politician...
Clark Bros. in Warrenton is ehh...if you are eligible, you can join Quantico Shooting Club, but I found them to be mostly Garand folks...I'm checking out the Isaac Walton League...
Welcome...

I've been to Clark. I was not impressed. I'm looking for a real place to practice USPSA...and Clark isn't it.
I'm checking out the Centreville Isaac Walton too...

About a 1.5 hour drive, but this place will meet your needs. You need to be a member to use the bays for practice - $200 per year.

I've heard of Peacemaker. It sounds as if that's the place to be. The distance from Manassas will keep me to maybe twice a month.

More than I'm getting now though.

Welcome to the forum. You should also look into Izaak Walton at Brentsville. It would be just minutes south of Manassas.

Not an action pistol place. I'm a member and can arrange a tour of the facilities for you.
Its got a nice shotgun range, 25/50/100yd rifle/pistol... but rapid fire is strongly discouraged.
Welcome to the area.
