Hmmmm.... Might be prudent to try to avoid anything that would cause somebody's head to strike the headboard, KnowwhatImean?

I know where my next paycheck is going...I need a headboard anyway this just bumped it up the list of things, I needed to address around the house.

Several years ago I built a King Size Headboard for a friend of mine. We built it so each post had a compartment that held an 870 Remington or similar 12 ga. I have also thought about having the Fire Arm Compartment in the center....Just haven't taken the time build. I really like having My Home Defense Fire Arm so handy and completely out of sight !

Cheap, and dirty version? Take your box springs put them directly against the headboard. Now take your mattress, and put it against the footboard...

It gives you about 4-5 inches of "shelf", that you can place a couple pistols, and a pistol grip shotgun...

Cover it with a blanket, and you're good to go.

I have an adjustable bed. I can't use any of those ideas and its a PITA to take the rifle out every night and put it away before I go out. I'm ready to start sleeping with a pistol under the mattress witg the grip sticking out a bit for quick access.

Just put a ring on her finger and you will never have to worry about that EVER..... These are cool though. My problem would be the dang dog. She would run up on to the bed and throw herself against that and out would fall the shot gun hit her scare the crap out of her. Then the foot would get caught in the trigger guard and somehow she would flick the tang safety off and BOOM hole in my closet and all my cloths.

Dog, get a damn dog... Mine will let me know when someone is in the grass.... Got plenty of time to get the gun... off the night stand.

Pretty cool setup!

I'm with JustinCase. My dog sleeps downstairs and we are upstairs. If the dog barks I know someone's somewhere they shouldn't be. Gives me time to get ready. Oh and looking down the stairs is a good "lane".
