I've been boycotting movie theaters for a couple of years...

.... because of putzes like Ben Afflek, Julia Roberts, Cher, the writers, the producers, et als. Watching them and thinking I am subsidizing them makes my stomach churn and my teeth itch.
All of us right-thinking individuals should initiate a conscientious effort to deprive these azzholes of as much money as possible by just not buying movie tickets. See if they can make it on the movie tickets that get sold to the limousine liberals and charged to EBT cards.
One last thought:
It says in the article that Julia Roberts said, “Republican comes in the dictionary just after ‘reptile’ and just above ‘repugnant'". I'm an Independent and am not disposed to defend the republicans (except maybe for the truly conservative ones), but obviously this simple-minded wench uses "republican" interchangeably with "conservative", and she exhibits the same vicious intolerance for non-liberals as all of her ilk. But now that she's drawn my train of thought to where political labels lie in the dictionary, it seems to me that DEMOCRAT is found in the dictionary between DEGENERATE and DUMBASS.

The difference between the parites is narrowing.. so its pretty much a mute point, though it does seam to hold fairly true, that the dems are more anti and the GOP is more pro.
Other wise, all politicians are just puppets for corporate greed.
As far as boycootting the movies, I take the family once or twice a year because its all I can afford... Otherwise we enjoy the Roku box here at the house. Best thing since sliced bread!

Too true, unfortunately.
I very rarely go to the theatre any more. I saw "Lone Survivor" two weeks ago, but the last movie I went to see in the theatre before that was "True Grit" (2010). I will rent movies on iTunes occasionally, and Amazon Prime, but like I said, almost never the movie theater. I do dislike giving most of those hollywood types any of my money, but $3.99 (iTunes) is better than $12 any day.

Most celebrities barely have high-school diplomas, so who gives a 5h1t what they think about any substantive issue?

behind proxies a plenty I hope.
In the last 18 months I've only paid to see three movies and thats because my folks came to visit for Christmas so we got out some, and it was too cold to do much else.
American Hustle and Wolf of Wall Street were hilarious movies, I highly recommend 'em.

Amen. Other than taking my daughters to see The Hobbit [part deux], I haven't been to a theater in years. I have Amazon Prime which works well enough....and I will neither confirm nor deny that I have any knowledge of pirating.......but we watch a lot of movies at the house....

I used to try to keep track of which actors we should boycott but there are just too damn many of them now. Even if you get one of the few conservatives left like James Woods starring in a movie, there are probably 50 libtards in it too, and I don't have time to research the producers.
I pretty much just avoid the movie theater except when Rob Zombie puts out a new movie...
I have had no TV and only internet for 8 of the past 10 years... I got cable again when I moved back to Richmond from Montpelier in September and regret the decision every day. I need to cancel the TV and just keep the internet again. The only things I care to watch are Justified and the survival shows... The rest of the time I end up sitting around watching whatever I hate the least just because it is there.

If it is not the Hobbit or a Narnia movie count me out!
I think I took the kids to see Brave...but since then...cost too much $$ to even think of it.

I will only go into a theater again when Clint Eastwood makes "The Good , The Bad and The Ugly 2 ".

Trouble is that they influence others who barely have high school diplomas, and others who have college degrees but do not deserve high school diplomas. And they indoctrinate the young and ignorant. Beyond that, I just find their ignorance and arrogance so offensive I wouldn't give them the sweat off'n my b@lls, much less $20 of my pocket-cash.

Yep! I get rid of cable, and now I only watch exactly what I want to watch via Hulu and Amazon Prime. I bought the last season of Justified. The new season just became available a couple of weeks ago. I need to go ahead and make that purchase, too.

I'm pretty sure Hollywood gets royalties on all showings, or makes money by selling the rights to their products. To deprive them of these proceeds would require abstinence.

True, but if the receipts got cut back significantly when the movies were released, it would take a MAJOR hunk out of the left hip pockets of the leftist azzoles who produce and star in the pictures. Plus a stinker at the box office will surely generate less funds in residuals and licensing of related items. If they've GOT less money, maybe they'll give less of it to their libtard politician buddies.

But, count me in. I haven't been to a theater since Hollywood went through that phase of producing no family rated movies because they believed that there was no money to be made by them.

@ Snakester: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was the third installment of a trilogy. The first two were A Fist Full of Dollars, and A Few Dollars More. But, you probably knew that, lol.
I suppose that the movie that you are looking for, to keep the pattern going, would be The Better, The Worse, and The Hideous.
I think Eli Wallache is still living, and he could resume his role. Lee Van Cleef is dead, but so is Angel Eyes. Kurt Russell could fill the third slot.
