With new Gov, what do you anticipate as far as changes?

Post by JustinCase »

With our new Gov for 2014 going into office, realizing he was/is a Bloomburg puppet, what gun law changes do you anticipate, if any?

What group(s) would be best positioned to combat any negative regs/laws? (Im thinking NRA and VCDL off the top of my head)

TIA,
JC

I anticipate the change of constantly being annoyed.

I am just glad the legislature only operates a few months a year, but I expect to be making increased calls.

VCDL is the go to group, but hopefully NRA-PVF and NRA-ILA, as well as the state chapter of NSSF brings some money to bear. NRA doesn't want their state to be a banning state, do they?

I think one of two thinks will happen....

1.) Nothing

2.) New York 2.0

I say this because our state government has been lifting regs, letting laws with sunset dates expire or have been flat-out repealing gun restriction. So, what I expect is we won't have any progress while he is in office because the new Gov is going to block all new legislation to loosen thing up. However, I think the state government as a whole will stop him from making an new restrictions.

Then there is the flip-side. He could rule by executive fiat just like the POTUS and we could loose seats to the Libs. If either or both of those happen, I strongly recommend sending your weapon out of state until we get new local government or... the ever popular boating accident.

And yes, NRA and VCDL would be two great orgs to support for fighting our position... but it is way more important that conservatives vote to keep right wing conservatives in office and we need to have as many gun owners as possible continue to send personalize letters (not form letters) to their representatives. This would be an affective measure too.

He will loosen one minor gun restriction to "prove" he he supports gun owners (while pushing for 50 new restrictions) to prove he supports "common sense gun control".

Why that one you may ask?

He'll need a pro-gun talking point for the VP debate.

I have been given to understand that some of the republican members of the House of Delegates have already had a friendly discussion with McAuliffe wherein their position on the limits of the Governor's discretionary powers were exposited.

Nice! I hope so; and I hope he paid attention. Just because the feds are to chicken to impeach Obama, I would like to think the folks in VA have the intestinal fortitude to impeach or have a recall if McAful goes nuts.

I hope and pray both of these posts are true.

I would like to know exactly what the position of those Republican delegates was.

I think we are going to see a lot of astroturf propaganda campaigns touting the extremist Dem agenda. I also think we are going to see cronyism and corruption exceeding the total of everything in Virginia history during his single term.

Most noisome of all, I expect we will see and hear a great deal of Thunder Thighs Clinton (aka the Pontius Pilate of Benghazi) as the Dems use Virginia as a test market for her campaign.

First off, they don't believe in God... Second, they want the USA to become "Europe Lite". Sorta like the GOP is "Dem-Lite" now.

X2 If you want to stand with the ones that do the real work defending your gun rights, join the VCDL. Go to lobby day. Get active and stop counting on others to defend your right to bear arms. Less talk, more action.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

Well, I hjope you can sleep, too - - because with THAT picture in your mind, you're unlikely to be disposed to do anything ELSE in your bed. :hysterical:

I think a better question would be: What are the realistic chances of getting a pro-2A gov next time. McA is a loss.

Excuse me, but this is a patently offensive comparison.

Pontius Pilate at least tried to keep the peace.
