What's a Clip Magazine?

Someone pointed out in the description for the Marlin 795:

it's listing a "Clip Magazine" under capacity. I know what a clip is. I know what a magazine is. But what makes this a "clip magazine"? It looks like a regular magazine to me.

Probably a cut and paste from a press release. Just covering the bases for the journalists and non-gun-owning public...

Maybe you put the rounds in the mag while they are still on the stripper clip? Don't know... just guessing.

well...
a clip holds ammo, a magazine feeds it.
so outside the gun its a clip, inside the gun its a magazine.

I thought it was a magazine about expensive sporting goods stores?

Last gun show in Fredericksburg, the state police at the gun check station asked me where my clip was. I was really confused for a second or two...
Surprised that a trooper would call it that.
