Any Gamers?

Two games I've played recently are PC related - State of Decay (beat in 15 hrs of gameplay) and Nether.

Both are Zombie related. SOD is about just a typical invasion where you gen have to put together a survival home, gather materials to increase the defense, build workshops, etc. then you help out neighbors and try to escape the city through connections and missions. It wasn't really as intriguing as I thought it was going to be but it was pretty cool still.

Nether is kind of similar. You're stuck in a city with Nethers that randomly spawn. To survive you must gather and stockpile Ammo, Weapons, Food & MedicL supplies. The twist? Not only can you kill computer generated zombies, but you can play in a server with up to 64 other folks and kill them for their supplies too. Sometimes you can run into friendly people who are up for trading ammo for meds or whatever else they want. I've played this game a lot more just because you feel more that you're in a survival mode because you need to stick in the shadows, watch the corners and buildings, and take into consideration your weapons you've found before venturing out.

I'm not into shooter or console games but I love iRacing on the PC. If you are a motorsports fan you should check it out, http://www.iracing.com

State of decay is great except that 120 rounds can fill a backpack, third person makes all buildings and movement suck while all the PC's have asthma.
Penumbra and Amnesia AMFP: I'd rather just run around in the dark with an old school lantern and run from Pig Men.

A Lieutenant I worked with used to play that game. Had a crazy 5 monitor setup with wheel, pedals & stick shift set up in his office.

Kind of disturbing... The one and only time I've ever mentioned iRacing and when I log into facebook it's staring at me in the face...

Another game that is interesting is Dungeons and Dragons. Real geeky stuff, but the next patrol we have coming up is gonna see some dice rolling :hysterical:

I don't game, much. I play Tetris on my phone, or Snake, or some other relatively low tech game. GF is more the gaming type, with the Xbox and it's overly complicated control pad that has more buttons than folks have fingers.

I would like a gaming laptop, though. Not for gaming, but if it can keep up the latest games without lagging, I figure it should do the video and music production I want to do.

Been playing Battlefield for a few years and it is often good stress relief but I often this I am the only person who does not cheat by using aimbots.
The zombie games sound fun. I will check them out.
If you have an iPhone or android and do not have zombie gunship, you are missing out.

Minecraft - ~ 13 million users world wide.
The official forum has 2.4 million members and 23 million posts with a maximum of 112444 online at the same time in Feb. 2012.

It's sort of a Legoland sandbox where you collect resources, build structures, avoid lava, fight off monsters of all types, grow crops, tame horses, breed animals, etc.

Can be played in single person mode or there are thousands of servers for multiplayer.

There are effectively an infinite number of worlds to choose from. Each one with a surface area ~8 times the surface area of the earth.

Thoroughly enjoyed Bioshock Infinite. I usually don't get time to play games until they've been out for awhile.

Still haven't checked out GTA5.

Godfather: I used to play CS: Zero and Source. I cannot fathom how many hours were spent in that game. Played competitively for a while too in the ladders. Have you played prior versions and if so how does it compare?

Played it since the first version. Global Offensive does a decent job on upgrading the graphics without abandoning the old school look and feel. They've added a new feature I don't really care for - gun skins. Now some players are focused on trading skins and stuff instead of focusing on winning the match. Steam is still worthless at stopping hackers.

I've been PC gamer for quite awhile now .. heck I use to play Doom2, Duke Nukem 3D and Mechwarrior 2 over dial-up on Dwango way back in the.... ok now I'm just dating my self ;)
Use to play the original Counter Strike but that got boring after awhile and then they change a bunch of stuff..:|
Haven't played many Zombie games, just a bit of the Day-Z mod for Arma2.. I keep getting invites to play Left 4 Dead from my buds, have to see if I'll get that one.

I now pretty much play, Battlefield3 & 4, Arma 3 and World of War Planes. for about an 1hr or 2 a night for fun with friends.

If you on, look me up

I graduated to Duke Nukem on a PCXT.
