2nd Amendment not just for guns

Since the U.S. Supreme Court confirmed in two recent cases that the right to carry firearms under the Second Amendment applies to individuals, a multitude of local gun-control ordinances have been overturned, modified or dropped.

Now, a new argument prepared by three legal experts goes further, arguing that the Second Amendment’s protection of “arms” includes knives as well.

You mean we might be able to carry REAL knives, and Nunchaku's again?

Seriously! When was the last "Drive-by Nunchaku'ing" did you read? Or "Shuriken puts eyes out of 20 at local mall".

(note, that was sarcasm. However I concur about knife regulations being antiquated from the 1950's, and Martial Arts weaponry from the 1980's)

About 30 years ago, there used to be a knife shop on the ground floor of Fair Oaks mall. Iirc, it was near the role playing game store. That knife shop used to sell shurriken (cheap stamped stuff) and half way decent ball bearing nunchucks. There was a similar store in Springfield Mall... Hong Kong somethingorother.

When I read "...Right to Bear Arms..." I take that to mean that I have a right to carry around, or drive around, any sort of means of defense that I see fit, for any reason that I see fit, as long as I am not actively using them unduly against my neighbor, lest my neighbor use his own arms against me.

Some Asian American needs to argue the case of discrimination, because he can not use the weapons of his ancestors.

I think the 2A also says something about militia's, but I could be wrong.

We are the militia. It is men 18 to whatever. The suggestion that the militia is something other than citizens has been debunked a multitude of times.

Forward thinking - good idea. Think about the U.K., where you cant by a pizza cutter without Her Majesties permission.

Personally Kelu? I don't think I want that concealed... (shifts britches a bit) Ouch. Don't think there is an IWB, or an OWB holster that makes that comfortable concealed.

I would LOVE to carry a couple of collapsible batons. heh-heh... yeaaaaahhhh. Lil' damage, and nice control measures. How's that broken clavicle workin' out fer ya'?

I used to carry a collapsible baton. City of Williamsburg, and James City County, never had a problem with it. Well, one officer was concerned that I had it; he didn't know if it constituted a flailing weapon or not. His supervisor ordered him to arrest me because it was "concealed", along with a large knife that I owned. They had been in my center console, but by the time the officer reached my car, they were in the passenger seat. But, since he didn't see them, apparently they were concealed.

The judge did throw the case out of court, and the officer spoke on my behalf. Then I was given my knife and my baton back, along with an apology. I was told not to hide those things if I chose to keep carrying them around.
