I don't hunt, but I think he meant "poll," not "pole."

But maybe there is such a thing as a buck pole. I dunno.

It happens when the buck is exercising his god given rights!

Got 2 does today. Looks like they were family and when the mother went down, the junior did not knew what to do other than jumping around. Even if I said from home that 1 is enough... it was too much temptation for me. I'm weak.
Shooting was the easy part. Processing the hard part. Ass freezing the painful part.
Thanks jdonovan for a great mentoring!

No. A Deputy roared up the driveway hollering at me to release it. Apparently, it's a registered democratic voter.

You guys have never heard of a 'buck pole'? Interesting.

I took a doe this evening but didn't bother snapping any pictures. I did see two nice bucks, both on them trailing a doe and moving quickly. Hopefully I'll get a shot at one of them this week and I'll be sure to post pictures if I do.

Turkeys and chickens are fine. This character was messing around in the barn where some firewood is stored.

I think 'buck poles' must be more of a northern thing, guess you can't really let deer hang in warmer climates. Maybe I should change the title to 'post pics of your deer here', haha.

Took a buddy out while he's home from college and had a successful morning (his first deer). Planning to go chase some bigger ones this weekend.

Both Deer were taken with a shotgun (limited to shotgun or muzzleloader). My cheap EAA .357 field sidearm is on my hip since we run into bears every now and then. Last fall I ran into one opening day of bow season and only had my 9mm with me...he bluff charged the hell out of me and I decided I needed something bigger this year, haha.

I hunt with a Rossi single-shot 20 gauge, rifled/ported barrel chambered for 3" shells. The gun shoots very nice groups at 100 yards with a small scope. My buddy was using a basic 20 gauge Remington 870 with the same 3" 'Buckhammer' slugs I shoot.
