A way for republicans to get that all elusive women vote.

Republicans are suffering because they are losing the Sandra Fluke vote. The young women's vote. Why do they lose it, because young women are emotional creatures prone to fear, and need security. The democrats pander to that.

These ads present a picture perfect opportunity. americanthinker.com/blog/2013/11/had_insurance_dont_got_insurance_now.html

They succinctly state that all the democrats care about is getting the girls into bed. They don't give a darn about anything but what is between the legs of a woman. That is demeaning, and disgusting. They don't even give a darn if these women get an STD as long as they can charge them $500 a month for a $10 pack of pills.

Now we need someone with some sense to show this for what it is in an emotional way. The democrats want to take advantage of you in every way. They want to use you for your body and your money then they will drop you like a one night stand that gave you a phony telephone number.

Those of us that are a little more mature don't need this type of stuff. But we have to start understanding the game and playing it better than our adversaries.

Given the Hedonistic Bumper Car Mentality of society as a whole, I have to wonder about the effectiveness of such a stance. That's not to say that it should not be aired.

And, speaking of maturity, have you seen or heard of the beginnings of a push for lowering voting ages?

It wouldn't shock me, but it should be raised to 25 when the brain is done maturing.

Yeah, I've seen a decline in reason since the 26th amendment. It was a stupid movie, but Wild in the Streets comes to mind.

I think if you're old enough for them to ship you off to fight and die for your country, you're old enough to help select the commander that gives the order.

That was a large part of the reasoning. Interestingly enough, the drinking age for most areas was changed to 18 for that same reason, but that didn't last very long.
Now, instead of a draft we have a volunteer armed forces so the argument about deserving the vote holds less/no water. Getting a job does not entitle the employee to a say in how the employment is run.

I've said this before: Being a soldier does not require anywhere near the judgment and maturity that voting responsibly does. In fact, being trained to follow orders without question and letting someone else worry about the consequences seems to me to be a pretty damned poor preparation for responsible citizenship. Sounds a lot like an Obama voter, doesn't it? Guess who a lot of them are? The 18-20 year olds, right?

dorminWS, if that were all there was to the job description I might agree with you. As I see it, it isn't.

Not saying it is all there is to it, but the argument is/was: "If they can be cannon fodder, they ought to be able to vote. So even though soldiering also entails any number of other responsible and challenging duties, that is NOT what differentiates it from a job at the oil refinery or the hospital lab. The meat of the issue is what I said it was. Merely going into harm's way, laudable though it may be, does not confer the wisdom and maturity to vote responsibly. 18-20 year olds have no business voting whether they are soldiers or not.

The Dems are betting their money on the Obamacare Hosurance campaign.

The ad above (yes, it's a real ad for Obamacare) just shows how the left looks at young women today. As nothing more than the sum of their lady parts. In spite of this, young women are voting for Democrats in droves.

Maybe the GOP and Conservatives should do the same.

Then where do you draw the line, dormin? Graduation from BNOC of whatever the other branches have for a basic NCO course in order to vote? (Actually, I'd love to see voting require service of some sort a la Heinlein's Starship Troopers, but that'll never happen).

For a "real" Obamacare site, the domain registry looks real funny.

Not defending Obamacare, but it fails on its own without help like this from opponents.

I'd default back to the traditional 21 years, period.

Dormin, is the 21 for voting, soldiering, or both?

For me, I'd prefer the same age for voting, enlistment, entering contracts, etc. I'm still thinking on whether it should be 18 or 21 though.

The "Brosurance" and "Hosurance" ad campaigns originated with the ProgressNow group out of Colorado. Groups like ProgressNow are trying to draw young hipsters into Obamacare.

Sorry to disappoint, but the cool guys at the GOP didn't do this one. But they should have.

Shouldn't that say "do you HAVE insurance"?

I'm no English scholar but if you are going to advertise at least use proper grammar.
