It happened on Halloween night. I'd really like to assume that the tattoo on this guy's forehead was part of his costume, but I have my doubts.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WUSA) -- A man is in custody after a shooting and tense standoff at a Fredericksburg apartment complex.

According to a release from the Fredericksburg Police Department, officers were called to the Commons at Cowan Boulevard around 8:40 Halloween night. That is where they found a 52-year-old man suffering from multiple non-life-threatening gun shot wounds to his shoulder and back lying outside his apartment. The man identified his assailant as 52-year-old Michael Allen Bailey. According to the victim, he and Bailey have known each other for a year and a half, and during that time the two men have had several disputes.

Police say Bailey retreated into his apartment after he shot his neighbor, where he was seen breaking out windows with a gun in hand.

I saw that on the news. It doesn't shock me anymore. It's still disappointing, but not shocking.

I think anyone who would associate with this individual, given his tats (specfically the tear drops), should expect the possibility of this happening.

It's a sad event, and a reason for good men to also be freely armed.

The University of Mary Washington is right across the street from me with it's myriad professors spewing mush into the minds of the young people here. That being said: There are a LOT of people who live here who burn red hot.

Do not count Fredericksburg out quite yet. I see more and more Gadsden flags flying over porches. I see more and more DTOM ( Dont Tread On Me) plates on local vehicles. Are we out numbered? Yes. Are we still able to make a difference? Yes; Ken Cuccinelli almost won the race that was supposed to be a landslide victory for his opponent. The TEA party of Fredericksburg is small but we're all dedicated and we're not going to retreat simply because we're out numbered. General Washington was out numbered and out gunned in practically every engagement of the Revolutionary War and we know how that turned out.

Be well each of you
Caleb

Only takes 10% of the population to win a war. So, I agree with you there.
