Too bad he can't convince Sarvis to drop out of the race.

I think Ron Paul helps a lot here. He will help to steer every Sarvis voter away from Sarvis, if that voter is voting for Sarvis on the idea of libertarianism, and basing their vote on Sarvis becuase of being "libertarian" Man, my spelling sucks this morning.

So once again it's the GOP strategy of "we only care about the libertarians when it's time to vote"?

Dammit, Shotgun, get off your whiney-horse. :friends: The republicans only care about REPUBLICANS when it's time to vote. Same thing's true of the democrats. Contemporary politics is not like old-fashioned marriage - it's more like these college kids that "hook up", get what they need from each other, and move on. (my generation used to capture that notion by saying "Lay down honey, I think I love ya." :hysterical: ). In most of the world, politics is driven by alliances of convenience and temporary consortiums of different parties. This, if it should happen, would actually be a step forward for the libertarians. If libertarianism is ever to break into the mainstream, it's gonna be like this - somebody like Paul having broad enough appeal to get the support and the nomination - even as a 'republican". You gotta crawl before you can walk. He can "come out of the closet" as a libertarian AFTER he gets elected. Hell, it worked for Obama and the socialists, didn't it?

I voted for him in the Primary. So no not everyone dismissed him and his ideas took root. The first time he ran I thought he was a lunatic, the second time he ran (on the same ideas) I thought his ideas had merit. Now I would be a Paul-ite in a heartbeat. It is called maturity and growing up some and seeing what progressive ideas from either side have done to our great nation.

x2 He got my primary vote and I also listen to his weekly podcast. Makes more sense every day.

Are you saying that all Republicans are the same? That's racist.

Ron Paul did get some crappy treatment from his party, but when I went to vote for him on primary day I kid you not the streets in every direction were plastered with Ron Paul signs. Makes me wonder if RP needs the GOP or the GOP needs RP.
