I know it's early but I would like to get this out for folks to start thinking about for early next summer.
The Cove is a great place to go and hang out Camping, Fishing, ATVing, and Shooting and I am proposing that we have a Meet-N-Greet weekend where we all get together and have a great time. I was looking at the First weekend in June I think it is the 7th and 8th. Speaking for myself it would be good to see everyone again as I have not seen some of you since Sgt Bill had his last Meet N Greet.

Of course we will need to have a Bon-Fire on Saturday night and I am sure there are some here who make home made liquid refreshment that might want to share their talents with the rest of us.

Sounds really nice. But that's a 365 mile trip for me one way. My butt would be dragging my tracks out by the time I got there. I do hope some day I get a chance to offer you folks some liquid refreshment, though.

Yessir. West of all of West Virginia and closer to Knoxville, TN, Asheville, NC and Lexington, KY than I am to Roanoke, VA. Closer to 7 other state capitols than I am to Richmond, too. I'm literally so far out in the boondocks that if I go in any direction from here, I start getting closer to SOMETHING than if I stood still.

I'm listening, but June is a tough time of year for me. Vacation starts in June, and I have deadlines that hit the fan that month.

I'm in! Just a few suggestions from last year. Name tags, I know we had them at the first few meets. Not sure if they were at the last one or not. And also can we all agree not to invite the rain this year?

Good suggestions
The name tags are doable but got to talk to the Big Guy upstairs about the rain

Sounds like a great idea....Always fun at The Cove. I just got on their website and checked the "events Calender" for that weekend....It still has not been updated and is still showing 2012 schedule....We need to check and see if it is one of the Jeep or 4x4 weekends....We have been there when it was and they shut the Range down and have limited shooting and it is REALLY crowded .They will not take reservations and will not guarantee a site. We always Camp in Camp 1 site 20 either A or B . I will check with them in the next few days and post here what I find out.
They will give us a group rate if we can get enough to commit . The Bon Fire sounds good....We will want to take our own firewood....Can't afford to buy it there ! $ a Stick is a little pricey. There's several places close , on the way that has a good price.

Hey guys.... count me in. I start working on Monday at one of the local turkey farms, but I am sure as time gets closer I should be able to get the weekend off. Also; I am just throwing this idea out there.... I have connections with someone up in Jersey that has a screen printing shop and think it may be cool to maybe have some T-Shirts made up for the group.... maybe use the logo from the site with a saying something like "I survived the cove 2014" or something similar. If we could figure out how many are going say by mid February to March and if everyone agrees chipping in a little for the shirts; I can get in contact with him for a price and that would give him time to print them up and ship them to me in time for this event. He may even do the shirts at just the cost of the shirt and shipping... who knows.

Their website doesn't seem to support ATVs - do you have any insight into how that works there? Is it a matter of just keeping the quads on a trailer and hauling them to a point off the premises?
I'm intrigued...

When I was out there last weekend they had the Crawlers Fest out there and I saw all kinds of Jacked ups having a load of fun. The shooting range was in full swing and with at least 30 folks out there at one of the busiest times. Mind the shooting range is in Full sun with no shelters and just a chalked line in the dirt to separate the range from the safe area. If you want a table or tarp to collect your brass or a chair to sit on you will need to bring it. The trek up the hill is interesting and I would not bring any vehicle that has low clearance up the hill. I am sure that there are some folks that will have room to help get everyone up the hill to the range I know that I will be able to help out in this area.
Hopefully they will post the schedule after the first of the year so we wont be limited on the range because of the ATV jamboree.

Taggure, I thought they were in the process of making that road a gravel road?

Nah, ain't dead; just hibernating. It's holiday season, and I reckon folks are turning their attention to that. We just have to keep bumping the thread back to the front page so we don't all forget about it.
