New here, relocating to Roanoke area in Jan

Hey guys, figured I'd go ahead and join the forum. My name is Brandon, I'm from Raleigh, NC. I've been on CarolinaShootersClub.com for years, but now my wife's job is taking her to Roanoke VA.
I'm an avid shooter, hunter and outdoorsman. We've been to Roanoke twice and like the area around Roanoke, although neither of us is crazy about the city. Both of us are looking to rent or buy. We found a house we want to buy in Bedford Co in the town of Vinton, but we are not sure we want to buy before we actually "know" the area.

I live about 25 miles from the area you are interested in.
Very nice area. Easy access to Roanoke on Rt 24.

Nice to see another Raleigh, NC native. My wife and I both graduated from NC State in 2011. I also just relocated to the area. Currently live in Newport News, Va.

I haven't been able to make it to one in awhile but VCDL has get togethers in Vinton twice a year I think and an annual picnic thing in Salem once a year in the summer.
