Private/Public place to shoot

I was curious if there were any public places someone could go and set up targets? Looking for a place where I could shoot how I want to shoot and not be restricted by the rules of established ranges. The majority of places have you shooting from benches or bays, you can't drop magazines to reload, no rapid firing, and other such things. I just hate being so restricted and I understand if you have secret or private areas that you do not want to talk about. Any help or advice would be appreciated thank you.

I would even be interested in private club or something like that where I could shoot without the many restrictions you see at most places. Again thank you.

Where do you live? Most counties have a restricted map that show where you cannot discharge firearms for sport/hunting/target practice, which leaves the unrestricted areas open for use.

Once you find the map and a general area, its just a matter of finding the property own and asking for permission... or if it is state/county land, just abide by the rules of conduct and laws.

gotta tell us where you live. A great place in Roanoke is of no use to someone in Arlington.

If you are in the Winchester area the Cove Rifle range is a pretty good place to try
