Used handgun prices are crazy
Used handgun prices are crazy
Used to be you could find some decent values in the used market. Seems to still hold true for shotguns. But handguns? Geez. A lot of people are asking more for used handguns than you can buy a new one for (not talking about collector items). I realize it does not mean they are selling them. I dont know about the rest of you but I wont even respond to an ad if the price is above retail. Just another way the firearm market is out of whack.

Unless the Bloomers make a lot of hay, I don't see those prices staying up. Ammo prices are starting to come down and there is more of it on the shelves. It helps that retailers are limiting what you can buy, even if it is a pain in the arse. Same thing will likely happen with handguns. If you can't find used for less than retail, then go buy one from a FFL dealer.

Re: Used handgun prices are crazy
If the market was allowed to work and retailers were allowed to raise prices to what the market would allow, this shortage would have eased awhile ago. Instead, prices were artificially kept lower than they should have been and panic buying took place to the point that all distribution points and manufacturer's warehouses were down to zero, dragging on this shortage longer than it should be.

Honestly, it seems they over spent on something, and they're trying to make it back up quick.
The only thing learned is "Plan ahead, and don't overspend".
You have to sit on a firearm for LONG while to make some money back, unless you have something outstanding, and hard to find.
Everyone selling something wants that sucker who has more cash than brains. However, I follow the adage "Do the honorable thing, even when no one is looking."
I've gotten screwed recently because I bought a car. I'm sure they either gave me too little for my trade in, or I paid too much. I have never walked away from a car purchase happy, but ONCE in my life.
