Anyone out there using one. I have heard the stigma surrounding them. Just though I'd ask you fine folks if there was any personal experience here.

Either way I am gonna buy it. It is to cheap not to have in the safe for a rainy day project.

I don't normally take my rifles to the range and beat them against the ground so I'm thinking about trying one out. All of my polymer frame pistols have held up pretty good so far. I've heard a lot of negative talk about them but I haven't seen much evidence of actual issues.

The two are not necessarily the same. Most polymer pistols were designed to be made of polymer from the get go and as such, they also has some steel in there. The AR15 lower was never designed to be polymer. That's not to say you couldn't modify the design or use it lightly and it may work just fine. E.g. the 3D printing crowd has had to make modifications to the design because otherwise they break easily. Different materials have different properties and you need to understand those properties before just swapping materials around.

The only polymer AR lower I have is a .22lr. A 5.56 or similar may be fine, but decide what your use is. SHTF I wouldn't bother, but for a range toy there is little risk other than money. A failure of the lower is unlikely to cause the shooter any harm.

Good ole solution in search of a problem, not really lighter or cheaper so what's the point? That said I hear good things. But don't know first hand.
