I'm thinking about buying the LaserLyte LT-Pro which is a laser that lights up on a target after you have aimed and dry fired to show the accuracy of where your round would have hit on a target. Anybody have or seen one? They'e $100 online. I think it's a bit expensive but an interesting teaching tool. Besides if it helps to build accuracy who cares how much it costs right ? I saw it on the NRA website. Check it out.

For myself I would not buy one. It will not be very good practice unless you have recoil when you squeeze the trigger. Yes it may teach you to squeeze a trigger the proper way for target shooting but it will not teach you what to do when you fire and recoil sets in.

I bought one from OpticPlanet afew weeks ago. They're charging 89 bucks. They work fine but the fascination wears off quickly.

Spend the extra few bucks and get yourself a Viridian, LaserMax or Crimson Trace then go practice at a range. For me it made all the difference in the world.

So what is the difference between using something like this versus picking up a cheap laser?

I have used a $15 rail mounted laser to just use and as an aid to see how much movement I have when pressing the trigger. Given I would not trust the el-cheapo laser for any real use but just as a training aid it works well enough for me. the LaserLyte does have the advantage of being able to holster it.

First rail mounted laser I purchased I paid twenty or thirty bucks just to see if it would improve my aim, it did. I did not like to use it though because of the way the laser mounted onto the rail where I had to re-zero whenever I changed the Battery.

That sounds like the laser that I have. Actually I have not be able to get mine to zero properly (hey what can you expect for $12 +shipping). I can set it so I can see the dot over the sights and it tells me if I am moving during my trigger pull.

I like that, now it's a tossup between that and the guiderod laser

If you buy one, can you give us a review on it. I don't have either a Glock or an XDM, but I'm strongly considering an XDM especially with this thing.

It eats lots of #377 batteries
It really should be sold much cheaper
Don't lose the tiny spring on top of the battery stack
