I don't know if anything gets out of this, but it reminds me the years before '89. A strike here, one there, all reprimanded, until people rise everywhere willing to die. Some 2K died indeed, but it was overwhelming.

Did truckers get special arrest powers recently?

I just don't see them winning hearts and minds by bringing NoVA traffic to a impassible crawl. Besides, you don't need a bunch of big rigs to do that on the beltway.

I drove on the beltway last night. It was aggrivating.

I'm almost tempted to drive that 400 miles up there to see it. But the kind of traffic screw-ups they NORMALLY have is why I avoid the place to begin with. Reckon that's what Fox News is for.

If either story is true the road is gonna be closed either way, by truckers or the NG.

The National Guard story is bogus, but I'm sure the DOT & VSP will be on hand for checks at the scales and other spots along the way.

I avoid it on a normal day...Much less when something like this is going on. It's like going to a NASCAR Race...You see much more on TV and the toilet is much closer !

Log books, ORS? Pffft. I got Elogs. Damn things update themselves. Can't really fudge those things. Paper logs at least gave you about 7.5 minutes to play with if you ran out of drive time. Not Elogs. But, then, no one really asks to see the Elogs.

Friday afternoon traffic around I-495 / I-95 is going to be no fun at all today, folks. Good day to call in sick.

They have started and VHP has already stopped them to give a warning not to impede traffic.
