I used to work pretty much right where the hit happened at 5:00 into the video; thats one of the most dangerous merges in the city to get on the GWB. The dipsht bikers were an accident waiting to happen all over the road like that.

I used to see the idiots all the time while driving home at night. These are the same asshats that run quads up and down the same section of road while having chase vehicles block off the road for them. They routinely shut down sections of roadway and NYPD does nothing. I'm with the driver of the car in this case. I drove a well-battered, flat black Pathfinder with a nasty brush-guard and they never got too close to me, but they would hang on to mirrors of cars and knock on windows to scare some drivers.

Brake in front of me like that with all those bikers and you will see what my 6000 lbs vehicle can do to your 800 lbs bike. Take out 10-15 of the aggressive leaders of the assault and the lemmings would get the message.

According to news reports this morning the guy was dragged from his vehicle and beaten pretty severely while his wife and 2 yr old watched. Too bad he didn't take out more of the stupid bikers.

Reason number 137 on why I carry:
-Idjuts who feel "road rage" is justified because they're overgrown adolescents.

And due to the Fact that the driver was in a Gun Free Zone known as the Peoples Republic of New York this U.S. Citizen was unable to protect his family and himself in any other way except running them over to get away. Where was the cops as he called 911? Seconds, minutes, and possible an hour passed before help had arrived to protect this Citizen. It is a sad day when you have to be a criminal of the state in order to protect your family and yourself from thugs like this.

That would have been a good place to have had a Taurus Judge loaded with BBs or those personal protection rounds. The Rover driver could have let the biker go ahead and make that hole in his door glass, but then he could have used it first - to fire through.

No need to get your bowels all in an uproar, pal. I said nothing that could possibly be construed as derogating bikers in general. Hell, my dentist and my CPA dress up in leather and ride Harleys all weekend. But this particular fellow I referred to as a "biker" was riding a motorcycle and he was doing what you saw him do in the video. No assumptions or genralizations involved. The guy was obviously a thug. I will say that ANYBODY who jumps my ride at an intersection and bashes my door window out so he can beat my azz and cut me up is fixin' to sample the business end of what I carry in my console. I don't care if he's riding a Harley or the fookin' POPE-MOBILE. And I will further say that I will consider that he richly deserved it.

What I don't understand is, since it was obvious that the SUV was under an unprovoked attack, why didn't he use that vehicle to defend himself. I know he wasn't armed with a gun, but he was armed with a 2.5 ton truck against people equivalent to being on foot. Anyone that gave me reason to fear for my life would have been turned to road kill.

It's amazing how "Punks" turn into "Bad A$$'s" when it's 50 to 1 !

People panic and more often than not, do nothing. You have to think about what you may need to do before needing to actually do it. I.e. have a plan.

For example, he should have been driving to a safe place after the initial incident and avoided letting the bikers force him off and into traffic. When he got stuck in traffic and the bikers started attacking, I'm pretty sure that SUV has reverse.

FYI, I ride a bike too. Those were just a$$hats and they come in all shapes and sizes.

Yesterday they news media had the mother of they guy who brake checked the SUV on and she was complaining about how the SUV didn't stop, etc.

Sheer stupidity. Her son was riding like an idiot. Her son intentionally causes an accident he is going to loose; come on, bike vs SUV is a no brainer (which implies he was trying to get the SUV driver to stop knowing the law...for what purposes a thug wants to get you cornered and outnumbered I leave to the reader). Her sons friends then behave like a pack of thugs or a gang and it's the SUV drivers fault? Stop your crying. IMO you raised and idiot and a thug, what other outcome did you expect? Be thankful he only has two broken legs rather than being dead. Just pray that he learns a lesson as the next time he is so foolish, he might not be so lucky.
