I want to buy a 9 mm or a .40 caliber semi-auto pistol, but first I would like try those calibers. I need an outdoor range because I have issues with air quality, but it seems like none of those ranges rent guns. What can I do? Can I rent from an individual? I live in Northern Virginia.

Sounds like it's time to setup a VGOF Meet & Greet in NoVA. Anyone up North have any ideas?

Range 82 in Beaton is nice but limited hours. They don't rent but could be a good place for a meet & greet.

Perhaps an indoor range with better air management might work? Silver Eagle Group has some of the best air handling besides the NRA range. Just a thought.

I would second Silver Eagle group for air quality but why not continue a meet and great plan instead of renting.

I like the Idea of a Shoot and Greet.
We did this a few years back at my Office (U.S. Army) we all would met up at a local range every month and try out different firearms that each of us brought.
Problem with some indoor ranger is that they can be packed on the weekends.
Range 82 (I am a Member)
has 16 lanes
on Saturday the inside (covered 25 yd) area is in use from 12:00p - 2 or 3Pm depending how many people want to move to the 50 yrd covered shooting pavilion. Then by say 4pm they move back to the 75yrd and 5 or 6 pm they go to the 100yd till dusk (Closing time)
Lee the Owned is a great guy,
Closed Sunday
Weekday Tuesday is Hand Guns Only and Thursday is Rifle Only (Evening time)
