I Just picked up a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Limited Edition Patriot Series "Don't Tread on Me" Rifle.
It's Optics Ready. no sights..
The Logo is etched into the receiver.
I swapped the parts around from the M&P rifle so it now my old M4 actually looks like an M4 :050:

Very nice! Congrats...
Are you keeping that optic on it since you swapped the parts around?
I see a range trip in our future! hahaha

For Now, Brad wants the AP-15.
Yes on Range Trip.. he really wants to shoot his Taurus PT92 that he bought in February.
So I was planning on going around one, I want to sight in the M&P 15 and redo the AP15
with iron sights for indoor range.
For now I am going to use the scope that's on it, I plan on getting the Trijicon ACOG Scope
But First I want to replace the guard with a Troy Floating Rail system with a folding front sight but will need a Low Profile Gas block
Something like this

Very cool. 1 sounds good for the range too.
That Troy rail system is what is on my LR-308. That is a great choice.
Rob over at VA Arms will take good care of you on the gas block install. Anything I have purchased from them, Bernie has not charged me armorer's fees. Though, I haven't had a gas block swapped out or anything that major. Even still, I can't imagine it would be very expensive if they do charge you. Give him a call.

There are lots of options, but they're one of the best and stand behind their work.
