Carried a full sized 1911 before. Generally it's the grip that causes the problem, so I now carry compacts (e.g. G19). Any good holster may work, but I think it's more about your body type (thicker makes it easier to hide that big grip), where you want to carry it, and what you want to wear. A 1911's grip shape does make it easier IMHO than most pistols (rounded grip shape catches on clothes less). Lately I've been liking my Raven Concealment holsters, but be warned their backlog is fierce. For a in stock quick grab, the Galco's are decent as are many others. Crossbreed is popular too, but again big backlog. There are many others too.

Depending on how you dress with it being cooler out, you could carry OWB with a hoodie or coat over it. IWB a SuperTuck or many of the ripoff's would work fine. If you don't like the idea of the butt of the gun possibly pressing against you Kholster holsters have body shields.

I CCW regularly my 4" Service Model XD9 in a DeSantis Scorpion, no problems. Wear a shirt 1 size bigger than normal is a good rule for CCW any way.
I am getting ready to get a Cross Bread holster, I think the leather may be more comfortable.
At any rate, I CCW full size all the time. Sometimes if I just want to dash in and out, like grab a soda or whatever Ill throw my BG380 in my pocket.

JC

You could also just go open put on a coat. I know it has been plenty cold in Cumberland to make it work.

As some others mentioned, the Super Tuck / King Tuck work really well for me. The King Tuck has adjustable clips to give you so flex to how deep into the pants the pistol goes.
I've been carrying the full size P226 in a 40 S&W for some time with great comfort, even after 18 hours (most days). I've been holstered up for with that setup for 36 hours at the longest, which included some sleep time in a Mustang and on my buddies sofa and still did okay.

I concealed my SR9 in a simple DeSantis leather holster with no problem. Ok, so the grip could get uncomfortable, but that's because of my impressive gut rather than a problem with the gun.
For winter time, there are plenty of nylon shoulder holsters that are affordable and comfortable.

relies entirely on your body type. when in america, ive carried my full size beretta 92 in appendix, wearing nothing more then shorts and an untucked T shirt, and had little to no printing.
