How's the market for reselling hunting rifles?

I have a Kimber 223 rifle I'll be posting for sale soon but am noticing the used firearm market is a bit soft. Maybe my imagination. I don't know. I know the long gun market is slow as everyone is grabbing up the easily concealed handguns wherever they can get them. But how about the quality hunting/range rifles? I purchased a sweet Winchester 70 in 30-06 a while back for $550 from Gander Mountain. It is flawless. The first time out, I made two clicks adjustment to the scope(included) and it put three bullets trough the same hole at 100yards. Wish I had kept that target. Is this what I'm up against when I post my next rifle? Am I really gonna end up taking a bath on it? Sucks really. I'd like to keep it but don't want to have to stock 5.56 AND .223. 90% of what I have now is 5.56 so I have a rifle and ammo that aren't compatible. I bought it originally because it was a beautiful piece with the intention of just occasional shooting but I hit the AR a lot when I go out.
I know I painted myself into a corner. I just don't know how long before the paint dries. But, such is life I guess. If the long gun market is truly softened up, I'll just have to get what I can and take my licks.

Not sure I understand the issue. 223 through 556 is gtg. For 556 in 223, there are differing opinions, mainly centered around the units of measure and value conversion and variances is upper pressure in non-US made cartridges.
Someone else here prolly has better info, though.

No, 5.56 through .223. Was told never to do it. Causes problems and can be a safety issue. Now, if I'm wrong afterall......

Sure you're not confusing it with 7.62 and 308? 308 is a higher pressure and is generally considered risky.

Since hunting season is rolling around, it may be a better time to sell soon versus the summer. Do you reload at all?

As I remember Kimbers are high quality rifles. Is this a walnut and blued steel or plastic and stainless?
Unless you are pushed to sell, put it back in the vault and let it appreciate.

Stainless fluted barrel and nicely stained stock. Definitely one of the upper models. Model 84 I think? Can't remember off hand.
Yea. Forgot about hunting season coming up. I just hope someone will be wiling to buy it for hunting. It ain't a cheapie.
