I have a 20' extension ladder , that's as high as I go anymore ! Sold all my longer one's .

I have discovered a rather strange issue with heights. I seem to be able to climb 35' up in my climbing stand but freeze up on a 20 ft ladder. I discovered this when I tried to top off a tree in my yard. Climbed 20ft up the ladder and then discovered that there was no way to pull the chain saw up because I couldn' t let go of the tree. As far as your video, I think I may be sick. Thanks

I have a really strange allergy to heights - airplanes, tall buildings - up & enclosed no worries. Ask me to stand next to 50' flagpole and look up -

Oh yea,cant stand being off the ground,im amazed i made it through boot camp.it must have been the big cajones one has at 20 years old

I'm just glad that I get to stand on the ground and watch our contractors climb towers. My butt was never intended to leave terra firma

The curvature is from the lens.

I actually do a lot of climbing for my job and do it all around the world (comtrain certified climber and trainer). I have seen that video a few times and there are so many things he does wrong. It's all complacency. You get complacent, you get lax, then you fall.

Heights really do not scare me. I love being high up on a building or tower. The one time i was actually a bit uneasy though, was on a 600 ft tower in Waco.

Looking down and out to the horizon was amazing, but upon realizing the top of the tower was right at eye level... That was just a really odd feeling lol.

Fook that is EXACTLY right.

I make it a strict policy to never climb onto anything higher than a bar stool. Heck, I've been known to fall off of a few of THEM.

I think the most anxiety-producing aspect is all the free-climbing. Knowing that a slip of those gloves could spell doom just made my gut cramp.

We were actually shown this video at our comtrain class because our instructor said it was the best training video. He stated "if you do everything this guy doesn't, and nothing he does, you will be safe". Got a good laugh out of that.

The three things that really irk me right off the bat...

1. Freeclimbing... Keep it on a cliff, not a job site.

2. Putting his pelican hook on a peg... Notice the size of the hook and the size of the end on the peg.

3. Two guys tying off to the same location.

The next thing he showed us was a crumpled body at the base of a tower after he fell from a couple hundred feet... That really was the thing to hit home for everyone.

He then said "im not here to just run a class and talk about what could happen, I'm here to help save your f*** life. If it takes a graphic image to make you remember, then i did my job"

He was a good, no bs kinda guy haha.

Here's an idea - mount a metal lockbox on the top and keep a tool bag in there.

I'm pretty sure 'locked' would not be required to prevent tool theft in this case.
