Virginia Gun Owners Forum - VGOF

I sure would like to see Virginia nullify any federal claim to domain over intrastate firearms matters. I'm talking about rejecting all federal authority to involve themselves in any firearm transaction of any kind taking place inside Virginia's borders.

Anyone make suppressors in VA? Imagine applying at the state level (or having your CHP suffice) and getting one faster than 8 months...

No reason to stop at firearms, either.

That would be a good start. Then contrast the effects with other states (like New York) who bend over for every Federal edict.

"Oh, you don't want to give us our Federal Highway money back? Then I guess our citizens don't need to pay Federal income taxes. We'll just hang onto that money."

If we can get three other states to do the same, they may think it's an organization. If we can 20-30 states to do the same, they may think it's a movement.

Can you imagine 20-30 states telling the Federal government to stick their highway money? Wouldn't that be something.

States (all of them) are addicted to that money. If a governor says no, the legislature will make them say yes, or vice versa.

You'd be more likely to get a heroin junkie to quit shooting up cold turkey than to get states to turn down "free" money.

The problem is, the Fed has no money except what they take from the states or the people by threat of force. If more state level representatives could be made to understand this, change could start.

Seriously though. The Federal government gave individual state sovereignty a big ole' middle finger a long time ago. I would love to stop paying federal income tax and spend that money locally, but it will never happen.

I pay more in federal income tax than any other single expense in my life. It's crazy. After I pay federal income tax, SS, state tax, and every other mandated charge, I see about 64% of my pay to actually live on.

Oh well, the working class is about 53% of the country and we are supporting the non-working class of about 47% of the country. It make sense that if we are supporting half that they take half, right? Isn't that the left wing lib mentality?

The process and point of a state saying to the federal guv'mint, "Get out, take your money, and leave us alone" would be a turning point.

It would take a miracle, but if it ever did happen, could you imagine the swarms of people flocking to that state?

Can you picture the Progressive Commies FLEEING?!?! If Texas did that? It wouldn't shock me.

If VIRGINIA did that? I would probably have to check the back of my head for a cable like that out of "The Matrix", and wondering if "Mr. Smith" isn't gonna come kung-fu me back to reality.

Looks like Virginia most recently tried a pretty weak version in 2011 with HB1731. Kansas has the right idea and they're gearing up for a veto fight on their SB102.
