A Just Right .45 ACP carbine. Uses Glock pistol magazines. telescoping stock - all the way in in this picture. Came "optics ready", which means no iron sights from the factory, which seems kinda to me like a raw deal. Not a bad thing to have if you've already got several 1911s and a few rounds of .45ACP laying around .
I guess this one would be a good candidate for one of those scopes that look like a magnifying glass since the .45ACP ain't exactly a long-range sniper round. Anybody got any red-hot suggestions/opinions on optics?

aimpoint pro for $400.
If thats more than you want to spend vortex strikefire in the $170 range, or a primary arms aimpoint micro clone for about $80 if you want to go low cost.

Yes, they do. But it's hard to find 1911 magazines that hold 20+ rounds. Glock has 'em.

Don't jump to conclusions. After the tragic boating accident in which I lost almost all my firearms, I just haven't got the heart to buy any more of those evil old instruments of the devil that providence saw fit to deprive me of before Obama could. But luckily, my best friend in the whole wide world lets me shoot his guns sometimes. Understand what I'm talkin' about?

Pistol caliber carbines are fun!
Regarding the scope question, The Lucid HD7 seems to get decent reviews.
Dsbock asked about 1911 mags... The Hi-Point 4595 TS can take 1911 mags either by installing a modified mag catch or by cutting and bending a tab on the mags. Their model JHP pistol also uses the same mag design, so the same thing can be done to it.

I'm more interested in a pistol caliber carbine for plinking. Anyway, until I move out from behind the iron curtain of New York, seven rounds is all I get. So a 20-round 1911 magazine would just be a prison sentence waiting to happen.

I know a guy that has that exact Carbine....All he shoots is .45 . Has quite a collection of 1911's and Derringers. He did put Iron Sites on it and claims it is a great addition to his "Home Defense" Arsenal.
