Artist claims she took 900 of these amazing photos, but the site doesn't say what they are. Would love to have these in a book!

Pretty neat stuff! Would definitely be more intriguing with some information about each round to go along with it.
How do you suppose they cut them in half like that? Laser? Without lighting the charge or firing the primer?

Been racking my brain to figure out how it was done. How did they keep the powder in place? Or did they take the trouble to re-fill it after the cut? Possible methods for the cut would be 1) water jet; 2) laser; 3) fly cut on a mill; 4) big bandsaw; 5) belt sander.
Would it help if they froze them first? Or had them in an inert nitrogen chamber?

There is no way they were cut with powder in them. It was replaced afterwards.
