I'll bring some drinks. They shouldn't spoil on the trip. Rick are there any motels close by the park ? We are thinking about driving up that friday.

Click on the link below to open the location in Google Maps
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie ... 426514&z=7
Then click on the blue icon in the map that shows the park site. When the window pops up, click on "Search nearby"
Then type in "hotel", or the name of a specific hotel that you would prefer.

I'm not going to be able to make it, but a suggestion for those out-of-towners that are coming in. Rick, can you recommend a couple of nearby grocery stores and/or delis where people can pick up potato salad, etc.?

Let's keep this thread on the "What to bring" topic. I'll post hotel info and directions to the park from I-95 on the main picnic thread.

Need to bring trash bags probably and cups. I can do those.
And we can bring the chips and dip. I'll also bring some cleaning stuff in case tables are dirty.

Dk, I suspect the tables are wooden picnic tables. IIRC that's what was in the pictures I saw of the location. Don't know how much they can be cleaned. I'll get some cheap plastic table clothes to cover them. Will we need a table to put food on? I've got a folding table I can bring.

I don't believe that will be necessary. I think there will be enough picnic tables. I have an 8-foot folding table that I can bring just in case.

Sounds good. I'll bring a little cleaning stuff anyway. I can make sure the seats are clean. Never know who used it before us.

I'll bring bottled water for those folks that don't like sodas.
Also put me down for one side dish, if I can find something that looks tasty at a local grocery store deli. And, one dessert item too.
