M&P 22 10 to 12 round Magazine Conversion Legality

I FINALLY was able to snag a 10 round M&P 22 magazine. To make the 12 rounders 10-round only they just throw in an aluminum spacer.

When I get this magazine I want to remove the aluminum spacer to make it a 12-rounder. It takes all of 30 seconds to do, so it is easy.

My question: Is this legal in the state of Virginia to do? Are there any Federal concerns?

I can't think of any instance where adding two rounds to a magazine would be illegal. This spacer must be in place to meet another state's 10-round capacity limit.

This is what I just got for 1 of my mags. Going to try it tomorrow or friday and if it works well I will order another set for a second magazine.

You are fine with any size magazine in Virginia. We are no NY or CO trying to effectively keep residents from defending themselves and enjoying shooting

IANAL But you are fine in VA. I have the same pistol and bought a second mag at a local shop. As I was purchasing the shop owner said hey check this out and actually did the mod for me.
