Wow, they're really asking for it.
It should read: "1000 Chumps wanted to get arrested, for no point whatsoever."

Like I posted on the FB page, "this is a REALLY dumb idea that no *thinking* gun owner would participate in. One thing to carry buckets of unpasteurized milk over the Memorial Bridge to protest the USDA, but assembling an armed mob is irresponsible and is possibly (or will become) a *f*** trap*, you morons..."
We're very far from the time in which these things may become necessary.

Meh, just a little civil disobedience. They're marching with rifles to make the point that they don't believe the government has the authority to prohibit/regulate firearms in the way they have. Can't protest the UDSA without that raw milk. Can't protest the park service without singing at the memorial. Etc.
If the government is smart, they won't do a thing. Take it as a political protest and don't cause an incident and likely will fade away. Make a scene of it by responding with force and the issue will only gain momentum.

Hmm. Not interested in participating.
Link seems dead, but my not-so-smart phone may be acting stupid, too.
I hope things go well for them. It should get interesting if enough folks show up.

In theory this sounds like an excellent way to illustrate how out of control the federal government is becoming regarding a lawful citizens right to keep and bear arms. In practice.... I am unsure. All it will take is one shot. One shot from any where near these folks and the Feds will be able to make the argument that ordinary citizens don't possess the discipline to possess firearms.
I salute them if they do manage to pull this off without a hitch; but, my instincts say that this is exactly what the federal government wants in order to really get the ball rolling on removing firearms from the general population.
After all, these folks never let a crisis go to waste and here comes one marching across the bridge made to order.
Be well each of you!

I don't think anything good will result. Marching into DC with loaded rifles isn't a smart thing to do.

This isn't going to end well. Adam Kokesh is either an absolute idiot or some sort of plant. They say that they will start the march in Virginia where the gun laws are more lax, but then say that they will start outside of Arlington National Cemetary. I'm pretty sure that even the streets and sidewalks there are Federal property and thus gun free zones.
Also, Adam Kokesh:
- Was highly active in the antiwar movement
- Worked for RT, the news channel funded by the Russian government that is often critical
of U.S. policy
- Promoted the Occupy Wall Street Movement

Mr. Kokesh and his supporters (if any) will not meet with "physical resistance" he/they will be met by the Metro Police Department and immediately arrested (there won't be a chance to turn back)!! I can think of a bazillion things that are a better idea than this "march" including poking one's self in the eye with a sharp stick

. As they say: "News at 11:00".

Well this should be interesting..... many have said that the problem with the Tea Party Movement is it wasn't disobedient enough. This one fits the bill for disobedient.

The TP wasn't disobedient about anything. They lawfully protested and left, there were no laws broken as far as I'm aware. Isn't lawbreaking a requirement for civil disobedience?
Everyone is gun-ho about using the lefts tactics against them (e.g. rules for radicals), but when it comes time to do it they back out. Will be interesting to watch.

This guy, Kokesh, must be a local guy. What station does he broadcast on? I have a hard time believing anyone is this stupid, well, except for our illustrious pols in DC. For the sake of gunowners across the country, I hope he talks himself out of it.

"The event is said to be non-violent and states that if the group is met with physical resistance, they will turn back."
I smell Kent State.
Is this the same as the other march on DC I heard about? I don't think that one was armed.
Personally, if I go to D.C. again it will be OPSEC OPSEC OPSEC OPSEC OPSEC OPSEC or not at all.

I don't think that this is a bad thing, at all. I do think that participating would require a HUGE personal risk, though, so I can't blame anyone for not wanting to. do it. Hell, I can't afford the risk, myself.
However, I certainly hope that lawyers have been lined up, and some sort of legal strategy has been planned.
As I reflect on this, it occurs to me that the event could have a lower profile "face". In other words, this Kokesh fellow comes across as too anti-government. It doesn't bother me that he promotes it, but letting someone with a softer image take credit for conception of the event would have been wise on his part.
I'm not sure that I'd want to follow that guy to church, much less an armed march on DC.
