Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called "Iraq o'Ribs."

Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret ", with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy shop,* *"Koranal Knowledge ", its name in flashing neon lights, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so their mosque issue would not be a problem for others."

Yes we should promote tolerance, and you can do your part by passing this on.

Be a mirror. Reflect back on others what they show you. If they are tolerant towards you and your beliefs, return that towards them. If they demand you change to suit them, stomp them into the dirt they came from.

Sooner or later, they'll realize you just want to be left alone. Or as that rattlesnake said, the only way you'll get bit is if you get to close and start pushing me around. Or something to that effect.

See, while I find this humorously inappropriate, there's a lot of truth in it.

I'll say it plainly: Islam IS the problem.

They see us as "less than" and interpret our tolerance as weakness and willingness to be subjugated, which is part of the design and right there in black and white for anyone who does read, to read.

One thing Muslims and I agree on is that tolerance of someone who wants to kill you *is* weakness.

I've burned through a couple passports and been in more countries than the average person can name, let alone find on a map.

Your insinuation that my point of view is based on lack of exposure is both incorrect and slightly insulting (in that its condescending). The notion that seeing more of the world makes bad people and shitty ideas seem better is also naive.

You see, sonny, the more I've seen of the world, from third-world shitholes to first-world, egalitarian capitalist "fun parks"; secular, Christian and Muslim; the more convinced I am that we are indeed "The (proverbial) poop". America is exceptional and I don't want to see it diluted with the thinking that made immigrants want to leave their homes and come here in the first place. I simply ask that visitors to my country come here and enjoy what we have without insisting that we change it for them.

Your position makes me think that either you are a Muslim or you're still in your mental adolescence, where you still reject everything you were taught growing up. Its common and many of us go through that, but as the cycle continues, most of us realize that our elders weren't as dumb as we once thought and that not all old ideas are necessarily bad ones.

If you're a Muslim, that doesn't make you a "bad" person, but it may make some of your beliefs incompatible with my democracy and I am compelled to resist bending our ways to accommodate yours.

Maybe I'm a Muslim maybe I'm not. Maybe I'm just another guy with an opinion. I've spent the majority of my adult life living in Middle Eastern countries. Jordan and Egypt mostly for the better part of the past 10 years. I never had any real issues with anyone so that's why I ask. I figured if what you said had any weight to it, I'd be dead.

But as a added bonus, just so there's no hard feelings I can help you spell your name in Arabic. The text comes out a little small on some monitors so hopefully you don't have to squint.

It sounds more like "jimee" due to problems transliterating English names, make sure you read it from right to left. The letters are pronounced like "jah ii mee".

I'm glad you had a good experience in those two countries, both of which have gone to great lengths (until recently for Egypt) to suppress extremism. Many have not been so fortunate. Look at the attacks on Christians in Egypt today. I too, have survived (obviously) time spent in dangerous locations, but that is not entirely due to lack of intent or desire of the locals. Your survival or even your positive experience in those places is entirely anecdotal and lends nothing to the discussion of the lack of tolerance codified in Islam.

Pretty sure I was refuting the "dismissiveness" and "denigration" of my point of view and that of at least a couple others (the implication being that we could only have these views because we were untravelled and as a result, ignorant). You on the other hand have offered no counterpoint in your comment and have only attempted to be insulting. Scroll back up and I think you'll see I've put a fair bit on the table, whether or not it's to your liking.

Cairo has 18 million people.
15 million of them are Muslims.
Surrounded on all sides by...Muslims!
Even the guy selling food was....Muslim!
No problems.

Odds would say 15 million people who wanted to subjugate or expressed intolerance towards me I would be dead or in jail or something right? But, oddly enough.....no way....nothing happened. So how did you survive being surrounded by 20 million Muslims?
