I am going to be purchasing this http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-3-15x42-Tactica ... 62238.aspx (SWFA SS 3-15x42) when it is released in a few days and need to pick some rings up with it. Anyone have any experience with SWFA rings such as these: http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-Aluminum-Mounti ... C3056.aspx. I really like SWFA scopes, but dont have experience with the rings...should I spend $100 more and get something higher quality, like US Optics rings like these: http://swfa.com/US-Optics-30mm-Rings-P51075.aspx. Thanks for the input!

Re: Anyone have experience with SWFA rings?
I have a set I purchased along with an SWFA scope earlier this year. In spite of my best effort to measure for the correct size, they were a bit too high - they are the medium height rings. I ended up putting a pair of Burris tactical rings on instead. After holding both sets and comparing, I would guarantee that the SWFA rings are manufactured by Burris.
But that's not your question - I'm satisfied. The SWFA rings (and Burris) are very solid, six screws, and they fit very nicely. No gaps twixt the top and bottom halves. I used blue loctite, and have not noticed any loosening of the screws.
Would I personally spend an extra 100 for the US optics rings? not hardly - but thats just me.
Comparing them to the misc other rings I have - Weaver, Leupold - the SWFA rings are better.
So, I have a set of medium rings, 30mm, with inserts for 1" tube, medium height, sitting in front of me in a box.
Drop me a PM and maybe we could arrange for you to take a look first hand.
Last thing, call before you order from SWFA. Great folks, but their online ordering system makes no account for stock levels. I ordered from them 3 times, and twice I received an email back that the items were out of stock with no known delivery date. Grrr. That really ticks me off. I dont have time to play with order, backorder, calling, email, etc - So I dont bother with SWFA aymore.
