So I just recently got my stamps back for my SBR and suppressor and am just wondering bout a few things.

How often(if at all) is your paperwork/engraving checked when your at the range? I got copies of my Form 1/4 that im going to bring with me but Murphy exists and say my copies get misplaced or theres some flaw with my engraving, etc? Current environment is not very friendly towards 2a and I dont feel like getting hauled off or maybe I'm just being paranoid.

It' not the RSO or range manager you have to worry about, its law enforcement. The thing is, they can't even question you about it unless you are suspected of being evolved in a crime. Being in possession of it is not reason enough to question you about it.

Make a couple of photocopies and leave the original locked up at home. If the silencer is for the rifle and the weapon has storage in the pistol grip, fold it up and leave it in there. Keep one in your bag too.

1 time I had a range RSO ask if I had my paperwork with me. I said yes, do you need to see it. He said no, just wanted to make sure you said you had it.

Take a copy and put in in the case you normally use, in a pouch, under the foam etc... then still take the normal copy you travel with. If something happens you still should have one with you.

I keep copies in a small 1" 3-ring binder. Has all my interstate transport forms, copies of my 1/4's etc... permanent fixture in my range bag.

5-10 years ago, when SBR's and suppressors were not well known, it was more of a problem. These days most of my LE contacts know they are OK to have

I've wondered about that a bit. So its kind of along the lines of probable cause before they can check your paperwork/etc? Also, under what authority can they check it since most LEOs you encounter would be enforcing local/state laws and NFA falls under federal(unless im mistaken) so say they have it stuck in their mind that the engraving must be on the side of the reciever and you have yours on the front or under the trigger guard and you get hauled off.

A little paranoia helps keep you out of trouble.

I'm not sure to what degree a local PD LEO can enforce federal laws. With most cases I see related to immigration, if local PD ID's a "suspected" illegal and takes them into custody, they suspect is detained locally (jail) until ICE can take them into custody for federal handling and prosecution. I would assume that the same would apply for suspected illegally possessed NFA items.

I've been asked by RSO's, but I just say I have it and that's the end of it. I keep copies in several places. Whenever possible I put a copy in the case and another in the range bag.

I keep a copy of mine in one of those name tag holders that clips to your shirt.
Do date I've never been asked about it.

I've never been asked by a RSO for paperwork, but I wouldn't be offended if asked because it is their job to keep illegal arms from being used on the range.

The first thing I did was make multiple copies, and then I laminated the original.

I keep the copies in my range bag.
