She's got her reward in Heaven. Pardon my french, but to Hell with the Nobel Peace Prize. When they gave it to Yassier Arrafat, I wrote them off.

Never heard her story. I find it amazing that she was not killed and lived such a long life.

How many of you would lift a finger if, say, the USA started shipping off people to camps? How about if they were black? Gay? Muslim?

Unless they have been found guilty of a crime I'd raise whatever stink I could. That is not what we do as Americans.

There's no insinuation. Just a question. Why are you making the insinuation that you are?

You asked if we would lift a finger.....of course we would.

I am rather tired of the rhetoric that conservatives hate blacks, gays, and Muslims. I am quite tired of being called names just because of the shade of my skin and my faith.

If you meant nothing by that why did you not say would you lift a finger for red necks, Amish, and Buddists? It was a jab and I for one am tired of being jabbed.

If the poo hits the fan I shall see to my family and will then do what I can outside of that. However as I am a Christian, a liberty minded conservative, and a gun owner I expect that if the cattle cars roll up that my family and I will be the ones running like rabbits for a safe den.

If I am sensitive then chalk it up to having been beat on for the past 5 months by progressives, rhino's, and those without a moral compass.

Kreutz, that wasn't even close to being funny. Mindflayer our nation has shipped people off to camps for years and years. The most recent was the internment of people of Japanese descent during World War II, One of the members, who posts a lot, said she was half Japanese (I might have the proportion wrong) in another thread. Would her family have been shipped off back then? Before that our Federal Government made treaties with Indians and broke them later.

At our nation's founding, there was an elephant in the room, slavery. Some of our founding fathers recognized it and tried to end it there. A compromise was reached, the nation wouldn't have existed as it is today without that compromise. That is also what set us down the path toward the Civil War. I realize that I will draw the ire of some on here for saying that. They will immediately chant about "States Rights". So I will offer some proof that the biggest "States Rights" that were being abridged at the time were in fact related to slavery. Virginia's secession declaration even mentions it:

We can't forget the footprints of an infamous Virginian, Doctor Joseph S. DeJarnette. Doctor DeJarnette's model was used by none other than Adolph Hitler:

A celebrated physician and psychiatrist during the early decades of the 20th century, Dr. DeJarnette is most famous for his support and involvement in the eugenics movement, which included support for sterilization of the “feeble minded,” alcoholics, drug addicts, and those suffering from other mental illnesses. Dr. DeJarnette also served as an expert witness in the Supreme Court case Buck v. Bell (1927), which upheld the constitutionality of Virginia’s sterilization legislation.
