Anyone here planning to attend?

Do we have to "lock 'em up in the car" to go into the Mason District Gov't Ctr ?

OK I looked it up .... The Mason District Governmental Center seems to be a Fairfax County Police station too.

So would it fall under one of these two categories ?

• General Assembly Building & property (open or concealed carry OK for CHP holders only) (JRC Rule)
• Detention Facilities (§15.2-915) (carry prohibited)

Lock 'em up? Good question. I can't imagine VCDL would hold a meeting someplace that would require everyone in attendance to be unarmed. If you are attending I'd suggest watching people as they enter and see what they are doing. Just a suggestion. There may be more info on their site.

It wouldn't fall under the General Assembly Building and property, that applies to the building in Richmond. As for the detention facilities part, just because it is a Police Station doesn't necessarily mean it is a "Detention Facility."

"A little info for a first timer, the Mason District Governmental Center is a police station. They are, however, very used to seeing us (VCDL) open carry during our meetings. Keep your gun fully exposed and in the holster and you'll have no problems, or carry concealed if you have a valid permit."
