Went to Silver Eagle Group in Ashburn for their IDPA match this afternoon. I hit the 5:00 slot, was wondering if anyone else went today? Had a great time, and felt like I shot well for my second ever match. Only two procedurals, one I didnt know about, the other was a dumb mistake.

Oh well, can only do better. Gonna go to Blue Ridge next wednesday for their 7:00 match.

Hey Greg. I'm still on for the Blue Ridge Shoot. I'll be in the 6 to 7 group this time so I'll look for you after I shoot.
I didn't shoot at SEG this past week because I had to work overtime, but I'm signed up for the 7 to 8 slot for USPSA on the 16th. If you have not tried this yet DO SO!! Its basically the same as IDPA but you don't have to wear a cover for concealment like a vest or shirt. The husband and wife team that runs the USPSA shoots are great and really try to talk to you about things you can do to improve.

Thanks, I may try that. I need to do a little research on USPSA.
I'm signed up for the IDPA 7:00 slot at BRA this wed, but I may have to miss it to attend a funeral, not sure if I can break away in time.

Sorry to hear that your attending a funeral.
Did you get a chance to break away or not? I know our group ran over a bit. I shot poorly. Part if it was the heat. It was so freakin hot back there tonight. And the smoke was killing me. They really have a venting issue on the pistol range. If you didn't get a chance to shoot there tonight, I might suggest you think about waiting till its more cool outside for Blue Ridge. I will be waiting for sure.

Thanks.
Yeah I made it. Were you wearing a blue t'shirt? I was wearing a red t-shirt. I was standing in the back waiting, I was in the 7:00 slot. Those were some fun stages. I had a couple of small messups, but all in all I had a good time and feel I shot ok. Looking forward to the scores.
And Man, it was bloody hot in there, unbelievable!!! I'm already signed up for the 6:00 slot in Oct, and will do the same at SEG.

Crap. I didn't ask around. I should have. I would have introduced myself if I had known.
I was wearing a dark gray shirt.

SEG finally posted the scores from 9/3 comp. I placed 2nd in ESP/UC

Time was 98.55, with only 14 points down and 2 procedurals (nervous errors). This was my 2nd IDPA match, so I'm pretty stoked!! Now to practice, practice, practice, .....

Nice job Greg! I don;t know a thing about IDPA scoring, but 2nd sounds pretty good no matter how you score it!
