On or about February 02,2013, at Gobbler’s Knob, Punxsutawney Phil did purposely, and with prior calculation and design, cause the people to believe that Spring would come early. Contrary to the Groundhog day report, a snowstorm and record low temperatures have been and are predicted to continue in the near future, which constitutes the offense of MISREPRESENTATION OF EARLY SPRING, a Unclassified Felony, and against the peace and dignity of the State Of Ohio.
SPECIFICATION: The people further find and specify that due to the aggravating circumstances and misrepresentation to the people that the death penalty be implemented to the defendant, Punxsutawney Phil
What do you guys think? Guilty?

The death penalty is a little to drastic. Personally, I think he should be hung up by his rear legs!

Once again people with power waant to flaunt it and let the others know that something as small as this you can be killed over. What a joke, fine the guy some money and make him pay financially for misrepresentation........this drives me up the wall

I'm guessing you didn't read the whole story?
To close the interview, Gmoser confided he was just having “a little fun” with the indictment.
“This is a story that has legs,” Gmoser joked. “I hope everyone understands it’s tongue-in-cheek…”

Phil ain't no worse than any other that's getting paid to lie. And, yeah, anyone believing a beady-eyed little liar like Phil gets what he deserves...beLIEver beware.

Wait, wait, hold the execution...
His very job description of 'weather predictor' explicitely REQUIRES that he be wrong up to 90% of the time to retain his office. Politicians have been envious of this job 'perk' for years and have done everything they can to remove him from his office (personal/professional jealousy?)

Here it is March 25, 2013. It's 28 degrees, ice/snow mix is blowing sideways in about 2/3 of a whiteout, there's an inch on the ground right now with another inch predicted today and yet another 1-2 inches tonight. It's slicker'n a mole's azz and colder'n the shady side of a witche's ...uuhhh, I mean a banker's heart.
I've changed my mind about executing Phil. Killin' is TOO GOOD for that bucktoothed little ESSOHBEE. Is there some way we could sentence him to have a promiscuous, crack-cocaine-addicted goth teenage daughter who's into obscene tatoos and extreme piercings and in love with an entire Hell's Angels motorcycle club?

Nope. Thank God, my daughter was almost perfect. Still is. But having had a teenage daughter, I can certainly appreciate that such a situation would be a lot worse than mere death.

Well, groundhogs being vegetarians, I doubt there's much groundhog grub in there, but the problem is that PHIL's lifetime in Oprah's fridge would be damned short. Ole Phil would go out with a gravyboat for a coffin.
